{"id":3476,"date":"2019-02-28T08:47:56","date_gmt":"2019-02-28T13:47:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncocra.org\/WordPress_v1\/?p=3476"},"modified":"2025-01-07T16:15:48","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T21:15:48","slug":"ocra-board-meeting-february-25-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncocra.org\/WordPress_v1\/2019\/02\/28\/ocra-board-meeting-february-25-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"OCRA Board Meeting &#8211; February 25, 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Attendance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Steve (W3AHL), Dave (W4SAR), Karen (KD4YJZ), Bill (N8BR), Wilson (W4BOH), Dan (KR4UB), Dee (KU4GC), Keith (W1KES)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Treasurer report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Savings balance is strong, with 78 member\u2019s dues current and 23 needing renewal.<\/p>\n<p>Bill (N8BR) offered his resignation from the Board.\u00a0 While we hate to see Bill leave, his vacancy presents an opportunity to install Nick (KA1HPM) on the Board in the capacity of Chatham County liaison officer.\u00a0 Nick is currently actively working with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chathamnc.org\/government\/departments-programs\/emergency-operations\">Chatham County Emergency Operations Center (EOC)<\/a> to establish radio infrastructure at several fire stations and other county premises.\u00a0 OCRA has agreed to support this effort by lending Chatham county our repeater. Nick will serve as OCRA\u2019s repeater custodian.\u00a0 OCRA and Chatham EOC still need to finalize and formalize scope, responsibilities, and draft a document of understanding.\u00a0 However, strengthening county relationships and providing assistance in support of emergency response is a primary goal of amateur radio, and OCRA is happy to help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NCOCRA.ORG <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dan (KR4UB) has done an outstanding job of enhancing OCRA\u2019s on-line presence.\u00a0 The website is quickly become data central for all of OCRA\u2019s general announcements, membership information, activities calendar and historical records. \u00a0The site captures personal interest for use in program development and field day assignments.<\/p>\n<p>Dan is exploring the websites survey function this year to match interest and availability in staffing Field Day 2019.\u00a0 We would encourage each member to login and update their areas of amateur radio interest.<\/p>\n<p>From the interest list we have identified several topics for future membership meetings: Fox hunting, Satellites, and Dxing.\u00a0 Please update your interest profile and let us know what topics you would like discussed at a membership meeting<strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our next membership meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 11 at the Efland Baha\u2019i Center.\u00a0 Topic considerations include building <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Yb-4UbagWxQ\">jumper cables<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QzLvdR6X81k\">powerpole connectors<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BBsqCN5kxso\">crimping<\/a>. \u00a0This is a great opportunity to learn something new and refresh skills.\u00a0 Hope to see your there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DurHam Fest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2019 Durham Fest will be held on Saturday of Memorial weekend.\u00a0 Please bookmark the following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfma.org\/dfmaDHF.html\">link<\/a> to DFMA as more details will be posted shortly.\u00a0 OCRA Board approved renting two tables to sell items at RARS Fest.\u00a0 Hope to see you there. 73<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Attendance: Steve (W3AHL), Dave (W4SAR), Karen (KD4YJZ), Bill (N8BR), Wilson (W4BOH), Dan (KR4UB), Dee (KU4GC), Keith (W1KES) Treasurer report Savings balance is strong, with 78 member\u2019s dues current and 23 needing renewal.
