Thankfully, neither groups were deployed, but were well prepared if needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Repeater 101 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1838 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/ncocra.org\/WordPress_v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/20181008_195404-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"559\" height=\"426\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1842\" src=\"https:\/\/ncocra.org\/WordPress_v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/20181008_190303-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"426\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dan (KR4UB) provided a wonderful presentation and demonstration of a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amateur_radio_repeater\">radio repeater system<\/a>.\u00a0 OCRA operates several repeaters under our W4UNC call sign.<\/p>\n<p>A listing of the repeaters and corresponding frequencies are available under the About tab on our blog site.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AUXCOMM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nick (KA1HPM)<\/p>\n<p>Nick is leading a three weekend, Chatham County EOC sponsored Auxiliary Emergency Communication (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/safecom\/blog\/2016\/07\/11\/auxiliary-emergency-communications\">AuxComm<\/a>) amateur radio technician review course.\u00a0 The review course original had eight registered participants but is now at fourteen.\u00a0 Each session meets for three hours culminating into an October 27 VE session.\u00a0 The training and VE session occur at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chathamnc.org\/government\/departments-programs\/emergency-operations\">Chatham County Emergency Operations Center<\/a> (EOC) located in<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scouts \u2013 Jamboree on the Air<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1839 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/ncocra.org\/WordPress_v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/download.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"159\" height=\"157\" \/><\/p>\n<p>OCRA plans to drive the MCU to a Durham location providing Scouts and the community an opportunity to learn about amateur radio and participate in 61<sup>st<\/sup> Jamboree on the Air.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have another Meal (HAM) &#8211; Update<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wilson is considering hosting a \u201chave another meal\u201d meal at the homestead, tentatively schedule for the afternoon of October 20.\u00a0 Communication and coordination of this event will occur via the reflector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introductions: 19 members and 1 guest present.
