Silent Keys

A “Silent Key” in Amateur Radio jargon is a ham radio operator who has passed away. The expression comes from the Morse Code prosign “SK,” which means “end of work.” This page was created and is maintained to help us remember the following hams who are no longer with us. They were our family members; our dear friends and comrades; and our “elmers,” the patient teachers of the radio arts and sciences who helped us when we were beginning our own journeys onto the air.

  1. Steve Jackson says:

    Clark Fishman, WA2UNN.

    SK 12/24/2011

Was one of my Elmers (and probably hundreds of others, too).

When you’re a wise-guy 20-something year old kid who thinks he knows everything about electronics, sometimes, in steps somebody who actually does, and helps you out, inadvertently enabling an entire career.

I got lucky and had several such somebodys. Clark was one of them.
